Default big game club or Bimini sands?

The other day i posted a thread asking for advice on a short trip to the bahamas, only have a few days so did not want to make the long run to Abbaco. people had some great advice about Bimini. I have been told that the big Game club has been recently renovated and is quite nice. my question is where to go The Bimini big game club or bimini sands ?? why is one more desirable than the other --thanks

Bimini Sands is nice because it is off by itself, quiet, has fuel, and a restaraunt. If you wwanted, you could spend your entire trip without leaving there. One issue we had there was that most of the rooms are across the harbor from everything else. It was a bit of a walk all the way around to the other side where everything else was. We ended up with our boat on one side of the harbor and our room on the other. That sucked. Bimini Sands is on South Bimini, so if you want to "go to town" you either have to take the ferry, or run your own boat over.

As far as the Big Game Club, I have never stayed there. It is closer to everything else in Bimini, since it is on North Bimini. If you want to hang in the bars and stuff like that, stay on North Bimini. You can walk anywhere you want to go, and checking out the pictures and things at The Compleat Angler is pretty cool. I can't comment on dockage at the Big Game, so I don't know how far it is from the rooms to the boats. Have a good time whatever you do!

Dockage at Bimini Big game is right at the hotel, you can see docks, your boat from many of the rooms and from the 2nd floor bar/grill, rooms looked decent ...for Bimini...better than Bimini Blue Water resort.

have stayed at both many times - if you're taking the wife/girlfrined - Big Game is your place as it is nicer and more in town for shopping, bar hopping, etc. It's about on the par of a Holday Inn.

Bimini Sands is nice and clean but at the end of thie island. Not much there except the bar and pool. Along the lines of a Motel 6...The place to go for a clean bed and room - a drink and sleep after fishing all day

Sands is my choice...

Glen, I think you're referring to the Bimini Beach Club. The Bimini Sands are the beautiful condo's on the water as you enter the island chain. The views from the ocean front condo's there are second to none. Wake up in the morning and watch the fleet cross your patio in that neon water! The big game club is nice, but only because of its proximity to the complete angler and other bars at night. The rooms are simple and there is no water pressure from 6:00 PM to 8:00 Pm, so shower early or late. When we stayed in March, I showered on the boat and there were only a few boats at the resort. Last May it took an hour to take a shower drop by drop
The Bimini sands has my vote

I stand corrected - I think it is actually the Bimini Sands Beach Club...
