My trailer lights need to be replaced...again!* This is a tiresome issue every year!*
Is it worth the money to replace with "led" lights?* Will the "led" ones solve my corrosion, breaking, and other problems other than to lighten the load in my bank account.*
Granted, there probably is no such thing as a waterproof light fixture....* I, even go through the trouble of un-plugging the lights prior to backing down the ramp.

Worth every penny. The will not corrode, are waterproof and draw less energy. As long as you make your wiring connections WATERPROOF you will have no problem with the LED lights. They will also outlast regular bulbs by at least 3 to 1.

LED'S!!!! Seal up your wires, take care to not crack the housings by over tightening or having them press against sharp points. Installed right your all set to just forget about um.
Maybe, maybe not. Where and how are your lights mounted? I moved mine from the back of the trailer to the rod holders on the back of the boat. They are removable and never get wet. Haven't had any further problems since they were relocated.
I think the best thing you can do is keep the lights and wiring from getting wet. Also, use a dedicated ground wire from the truck to the trailer. Don't depend on the interface of the trailer to the hitch ball to act as your ground.
I installed them last month. They are much brighter and should last MUCH, MUCH longer. The thing that bummed me out was that the wiring harness was not long enough!!! My boat is 21' , the wire was about 3' too short. I spliced in some extra up in the trailer tongh so as to not be submerged. Other than that I think they are great.
I will never buy a set of the "bell jar" lights again. After going through 2 sets in one summer (and granted they were cheap ones), I am not doing it again.
