A list packed with classics! I'm surprised that the Bertram 42 and 28 are not mentioned. Also darn few Vikes? Should be a fun, and highly contentious thread

Just for fun, my dream boats over the years:

1. Whaler 13
2. Whaler 18 Montauk
3. Aquasport 22-2
4. Bertram 31
5. Bertram 42
6. Hatteras 53
7. Bertram 54
8. Hatteras 60

Finally got the 22-2 after 40 years !

Latest obsessions/speculations:

Sea Hunt Escape 250
Ocean 54

it is a subjective list and includes boats that had a huge impact on boating - hence the classics. Surprised the 25 Mako was higher than the 23 SeaCraft but thats not that big a deal the 25 was a good boat. The 20 is where it should be BTW, it revelutionised fishing for the CC market, and most that one wished they never got rid of it.

Not even close. Putting a 29 Phoenix and a Seacat on there discredits the whole thing-POS...

I'm surprised they put the Contender 31 in the list, but not the 25 open. For quite a while, it was the go to CC fishing boat. There have been so many great ones, though.

i agree, if you want a contender on the list the 25 takes the cake.

Looks like a weighted list of units sold and fishing as primary objective of boat. I think for some of the really nice yachts that are not included it is purely a function of how few people they impacted, ie hulls on water. Also may be they looked a bit at the top boat in each size range for each era. Not sure list is sort of all over the map. Happy to own #15. Been a great boat and definatley has caught lots of nice fish. Maybe someday I can move up just one spot to #14. Would be more than happy to end up there.

Having tipped Hobies, I would disagreee. Lots of merit there.

I think a sub is the perfect boat. Shoot the fish you want.

I have a SC 20. The older 21 would swallow 2 1/2 of me whole.
With ease.
