Default Garmin Survey Crew???

Just had these guys ride by. I'm guessing they are either scanning the bottom or shore line of the lake. Anyone weigh in on this?? They didn't stop to chat.

Why in the hek am I at a computer and you're on the water? Must be nice!

I saw them today in a bigger boat scanning a Lake in SC. Maybe they looking at how much sediment there is?

Lake Hartwell. Boat had a flat looking rod sticking down in the water on the front of it. Lots of GPS stuff on the top of it. A green light on the side of the Cabin. They circled around a few times. Looked like a salt water tug boat

Good to see Garmin out there updating their charts! I wish all of the companies would do that! They may--but Garmin seems to be very proactive.

Thanks for solving that mystery. Man it sure is going to be expensive to update a Lake as big as Lake Hartwell and very time consuming. Over 56000 acres

Think I figured out what I want to do after retirement. Tool around on someone else's nickel and take lake readings.

That would be fun in their boat. I wouldn't do it as a independent contractor. I would probably find ever stump and tree top out there. He was running that big heavy boat in some shallow water. He would have a hard time getting it under some bridges if we were closer to full pool. I really don't know how he got it under one bridge with those instruments sticking out on top
