Default 2005 honda 225 four stroke

my problem is,
I have to crank it twice to make the alarm go off.
Changed ignition switch seem to fix the problem for about six weeks. Its doing it again now.
Honda people are telling my support to change the wire harness.
That sounds okay.
What doesn't sound okay is it takes a week to get the part.
With overnight not an option.
I called my Honda number for no help. She says if it takes a week to get the part. Then it takes a week to get the part.
She suggested changeing my dealer if I wasn't sastified. She also give me a webbsite address which doesn't come up.
www.honda.powerequipment.com
My dealer is very capable of fixing Mercury motors but doesn't seem to be getting the help Honda promised them when they started handeling Honda.
I've got the first big Honda motor on the third biggest lake in Texas, Lake Richland Chambers.
I am on the water over twohundred times a year.
I ran a yamaha 225 for five years with little problem.
I am not suppose to have to deal with cranking a sixteen thousand dollar motor twice.
All day long.
Is there any one ,with any kind of Honda advice.

Default RE: 2005 honda 225 four stroke

Bob-

As seems to be happening everywhere, dealers are taking on more and more outboard lines due to factory rigging than they can be "experts" in. Many dealers, even the small ones have 3 or more engine lines due to new boat sales yet they can't keep up with the tech side of new engines either due to schools required for the techs or the equipment needed to do the diagnostics. I would suggest finding a "home grown" Honda dealer who has carried Hondas for a long time. They will have a tech or two that has been to the schools and will own the right diagnostic software. Hondas, like many engines these days gets "plugged in" to a computer that runs diagnostics and points the tech to the issue. In the mean time, take a look at this link as I listed the alarm codes. The first thing I would check is the fuel/water separator on the side of the engine.
