Default SeaFoam

What's the best way to use SeaFoam? Pour into fuel tank or directly into carbs?

I have 3-2bbl carbs on a merc 150. There is no way to pour directly into carbs, but, to obtain a more concentrated mixture, compared to pouring into fuel tank, is it possible to use a remote fuel tank, possibly a 1 gal container, and pour the SeaFoam into that tank while running engine?

Although it may not be effective as pouring directly into carbs but it seems like it would more effective then pouring into a 20 gal fuel tank.

I've heard, and read, alot about SeaFoam lately. Seems to be the key to de-carbing.

What ya'll think?

Glen, have you ever tried doing it that way, or anyone else here?

I have used the dunk method several times as part of my maintenance. It works extremely well. I have been very impressed with this method and now all of my friend use the same method. I have a 1992 Yam 175 with over 800 hours and runs all day off shore without a hiccup. I highly recommend it.

yes - did it exactly that way on my opti's with about 350 hours on them. I did'nt get much in terms of smoke after restarting - the tell tale sign that you are burning off the carbon. I attribute that to using quikleen all the time and running them hard everytime I went out.....

I would sugest it evey couple 100 hours if you do not use quikleen...but if you do, I think you're carbon free...

a little bit better ,smoother idle but I think I was pretty clean....a tech I really respect said the best thing you can do for opti's are to run them at WOT as close to trip shutdown as you can get...
