Where is the thermostat located on 98 Evinrude 200 Ocean Pro? How easy is it to replace and how often?

FWIW,
I have a 1997 johnson 150 ocean runner. The t-stats are located on the cyl heads . There is a big cap like cover on it( black) I believe it is a 13/16 size wrench to remove.

Bassslayer has it right. On the aft of the motor at the top of the cylinder heads there are two assemblies with 4 screws each. You know you have found the correct assemblies by finding the rubber cooling water lines attached to them.

Careful with the bolts! They have a tendancy to get stuck in there and break off making you swear ALOT and then drill them out an tap for Heli-coils.
