Default Noisy Engine Hour Meter

My 115 hp Suzuki 4 stroke is so quiet at low speeds that I can clearly hear a very obnoxious clicking sound every 3 seconds coming from my engine hour meter. I have already relocated it from my console to inside the cuddy cabin and I still hear it. Does anyone know of an hour meter that is totally quiet? Suzuki dealer claims "all hour meters are noisy with quiet 4 stroke engines". Come on...it's just a clock.

Yes all of suzuki hour meters click.
Mine does and I know of 4 other and they all click.
A minor annoyance for a great motor.

Sell your Suzuki and get a 1975 Mercury inline 6 115 hp, tower of power. You'll never hear the meter again.

I have located a fully digital hour meter online from ENM Counting Instruments ,Chicago, Ill. It is one of their T1100 series meters. Now I will have quiet idle speed cruising again.

You sure they are weather tight? Honda has a marine digital hour meter for $25.89

Yamaha has digital hour meters:

Just then down the squelch on the radio. You'll probably forget about the hour meter in 10 or 15 minutes.

Can't believe those F-strokes are "that" quiet.

Get one of the Inductive meters. You'll never hear it again and you wont have that nasty problem of the hour meter clickin' away when the key is on.

www.sendec.com

They are about $30 or cheaper on ebay.

That Yamaha meter is a Sendec with a Yamaha label set for 100 hour notification versus the standard 25 hour.

I replaced my original meter with the one sold at "one of those boat stores", and it, too, clicks, but not that often. It's so infrequent, it doesn't bother me. Every 3 seconds would piss me off LOL.

I guess my OX66 225s must be as quiet as a four stroke because I had to disconnect the Yamaha hour meter because it was ticking and driving me insane. I put some off brand meter inside the console that doesn't tick. My Yam meter says about 100hours . Just kidding, no one would believe it anyway!
