I am trying to find out the size of my engine. I have a 21' 1978 Glassmaster. The only numbers I see are " V8, GM CFM, 33, and the firing order 18436572". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default another source

http://www.hindecoder.com has a free HIN decoder but then you can upgrade. its still cost money but cheaper than the other companies. They have the same databases that they search and collect data except for warranty and Customs. the rest is the same but cheaper.

Not sure what you're trying to achieve, but in Florida, there's ONLY one public official government site you can run a free hin for limited DMV info.

Those links are for documented boats, not dmv info.

HIN's are not the same as auto VIN's. They only indentify;

1. Manufacturer.
2. Serial number of boat.
3. Certification month & year. This is required in the HIN as the boat manufacturers statement that they have met all federal safety regulations in effect at the time of construction.
4. Model year of boat.

No other information can be found by searching a HIN. If the builder is still in business, they may be a source for detailed information like engine model, etc..
