Default Locking Pilot House

Right now on Parker 2520XL have a locking door knob on the pilot house door only issue is the throw lock is way to short barely grabs in summer and in winter will not grab at all so what in your opinions is the best locking handle for the pilot house?

Mine works great too....you probably are having an door alignment problem that either you or your dealer should be able to correct.

you cold try to shim the stricker plate with some thin plastic, I have the same mortise perko door lock but I also put a very nice stainless hasp on the door with a combo lock. the old perko corroded to a point that the locking mech. would not work so th edoor is locked with the hasp. By the way I have the old teak door and jams not the plastic doors.
I also put some weather stripping on the door jam so the door doesn't rattle up and back.

i laso own a 2005 2520xl and the lock does seem to be a bit shy, but is holding up just fine so far. by the way has anyone had problems with the arms that hold up the front windshields, they just dont seem to hold tight enough and begin to slip down after time. i was thinking about replacing them with hydraulic arms.

My lock works fine,
but it would NOT take much for someone to break into the boat as the lock is kind of whimpy!!!
I would also like some imput on the arms on the windshield because one of mine needs to be replaced because the knob that you tighten up to keep it open broke off!

I also own a (2004) 2520XL and have had no problems with the door or lock – despite the cold or hot weather. I would certainly call the dealer. The windshield arms do sometimes slip when hitting a wave. For this summer I was thinking of rigging a small piece of wood to keep the window (partially) open. Let us know if the hydraulics, or other device, works. Good luck!

ParkerBoys,
Yeh we had the same issue with the arm for the windsheild staying open well at least until my dad tried to tighten it and broke the knob off trying to find something new that actully has a true physical locking mechanism if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
