Default what is the best diesel walkaround?

I am chasing info any help would be appreciated. I am looking to purchase a walkaround diesel powered fishing boat (preferably cummins or yanmar) up to around 28ft so i can put it on a big trailer and bring it to australia. does any one know of a manufacturer that makes hulls of solid fibreglass or without wood in the transom or stringers. I am extremely concerned about dry rot getting into timber. Any advice?

no known boats of this design that short. Strike 37 is a great boat but bigger than your max.
Albin? Shamrock?

If you can find one, a Blackfin 27 W/A:

Call Mark Smith at Canaveral Custom Boats in Port Canaveral Florida.
He builds a great wood free boat, he's one of the best to deal. He has a 40 year family history building boats. I put a 28' boat he built through absolute hell for years and could not break it.

Big Trev:

It's unclear whether you're looking for a new or used boat. I'll assume new:

I respect your concern about wood in boat construction - it's a common opinion - but you get rot in wooden transoms and stringers because the construction practices of the builder are not adequate to prevent it. The problem isn't with wood, it's in the way it is installed and encapsulated, and in the measures that are (not) taken to prevent water intrusion.

Regardless what the core material is between glass skins, it is essential to keep the water out. Good builders accomplish that by using the right materials and techniques, whether the core is balsa, one of the foams or wood.

If you happen to be in a position to consider a custom build, I'd encourage you not to overlook the possibilities of epoxy and glass-sheathed cold-molded construction, especially if you do not find what you want among production boats. I am such a builder and would be happy to discuss that with you, even if you only want more information with which to make a truly informed decision. Contact me any time.

Already responded, but you don't like the 9' 5" beam on the Conch 27 which has a cored hull and glass over foam stringers. The ride is simply incredible. The KAD 44 diesel package, well you'd be hard pressed to find another like it.
