thinking about movin up from my 236 sailfish to the 266 with twin 150 hdpis.any body out there with this power option ? I know the boat well enough just wondering if it has enouph power with the hdpi 150s.its a used boat so I dont have the option to go to the 200s
they are rigging a lot of them with the 150 four strokes this year. with those they are said to run 46-48. boat should be fine just not the speed machine people want these days.
I tested that combo last fall over 3 mpg at 3500 on the yammie fuel mngt gauge will cruise all day at 30 in the snottiest seas The f225 are alot faster But ours will be 150hpdi or 200 ox66
Only 2K more than the 266? I priced one today,,, an unbelievable 72.5K. If thats the going price, Sailfish may loose some of its current market appeal. Maybe only 2K different at other dealers? Where are they?

Try Boats Unlimited in port charlotte florida! Speak to Ken Cook (941 235 2628) they move over a hundred sailfish a year!
This is the deal I did in january 05 on a 266 ( you may wait a while on 2660)

Porta potti Outriggers Icom vhf w/6db antenna cobia tower swim platform console and leaning post covers.

I know 70k seems a lot but try and get all these options for that money on some of other boats!
They also let me buy the electronics and their fitting them for me! Recently at the local show they were offering 266 wtwin 150's pro and offshore package, swim platform, trailer and few other bits for about 62k
Are sailfish getting greedy or have they been underpriced, I haven't seen a boat with the same reputation in the same price range, From tht I do hear that bluewater are comparable but I'm not sure on costs, I've certainly seen much more expensive boats that do not come close.
As for the 2660, looks a nice boat, a change of hull, haven't heard much about the ride, a couple of weeks ago i believe there were only two made to then, I,m told price difference at the moment is 5k and you may wait a while, it is not replacing the 266 at the moment. ( personally i think the 2660 is going to be a great boat depending on ride, it looks a heavier boat, but they seemed to have covered all the areas that the 266 could be improved).
Try calling Bluewater Yacht Sales in Mobile/Orange Beach, AL. 800-237-8726 Ask for Bennett Long. I have a friend who recently purchased a 266 from them and got a good deal
Just a point of reference, but the same dealer that priced out the 2660 for me at 72.5K, also priced me a 266 with basically the same equipment for 58K about a month ago. Both were straight sale prices, but 14K different.

maybe he doesn't sell many sailfish, so probably can't get one quickly, so he priced it accordingly, new boat high demand!
Also all sailfish had a price increase a few weeks ago!
I just purchased a Sailfish 238 and there have been serveral price increases since last fall. Mine has twin 150 yam. 4 strokes and does about 49mph with a fuel (185 gallons ) and the 60 gallon livewell full. I reccomend a sea trial on all Sailfish boats and that will make up your mind real quick. These boats have a lot of standard options not included with other brands.
Does , the 2660 keep the same hull design , the 24 degree variable step ? I don't own a 266/238but am convinced this is a true "sleeper" of a value... now that the public has found them the price will slip on up Im sure.. They may be a few knots slower than some when its flat but that extra weight comes in handy when it gets snotty ....
They do seem to be coming to life now, and appear to be a fine boat. Once pricing of a 26 hits 70+ though, there is some very tough competition out there thats been around and proven.
Their prices have definately gone up but I think if you looked around you would still be hard pressed to find as good of a boat for the money. Our dealer seems to be rigging most now with the 150's which still perform well but give you a much smaller price point. But you are correct they might eventually price themselves out of their market. It seems that they are selling so good right now that they can afford raise the price.
My thoughts. If a 266 rigged could be bought for under 60, and now they're asking over 70 for a 2660, they are shooting themselves in the foot. The orig. post on here said the 2660 woulld be 2 - 5 more than the 266. That being the case a 2660 should be no more than 62 - 64. Thats reasonable. Another post shows it being 14K over at 72K. At that price you can buy a Hydra Sports and many others. I think Sailfish needs to re-think thier pricing. At 62, I'd go Sailfish but at 72 I'd go Hydra Sports. Many other good names avail at 70.
