I fish 3 days in a row when I go, and eating the same thing day after day, year after year gets old. So I am looking for some tips of what I can make up at home or on the boat for day 1,2 and 3.
I also find that if I give my passengers a roll before we head out, sea sea sickness is less of a problem, so I am really looking for a something to go with juice or coffee in the morning, a cool snack when it starts to warm up, lunch, and something to energize everyone later in the day when we get tired.
Hopefully we can put together a menu with all of our ideas.
I bring blueberry muffins to go with coffee in the morning. For dinner it's usually subs. Never stayed out more than 1 night though. Other options could be fruit, fried chicken, nuts, cheese/crackers, pnut butter/jelly, beef jerky. If you can cook on the boat you could have eggs in the morning and just about anything fried in a pan.
Kudo's (quick), subs, chips/salsa, bean dip with fritos, beer and soda's.

We will make up some tuna salad, then slice of tomatoes and lettuce to keep seperate in a seperate tupper ware, and a seprate loaf of bread, so that we can make up sandwiches fresh on board with a spoon and our fingers and the bread isn't soggy.
ham or Egg salad is a variation on this theme.
Have gotten away from sodas and beer going to 2 igloos, on with koolaid for the kids and the other with white wine spritzers with diet seven. A couple of chunks off block ice keep 2 - 10 gallon igloos with a spigot valve cold and color coded plastic glasses eliminate the trash.
Bullshipper do you get king mackerel there? I make a great kingfish salad, better than canned tuna by far, little different, everybody loves it, keep it separate in tupperware, make sandwiches or eat with crackers, good stuff
bull i'm the wrong person to ask...the most food that ever makes it on my boat is those gas-station sandwiches
we eat like kings after the trip though
i do usually bring lot's of oranges in the summer. keep them in the ice chest and they refresh & energize you pretty quickly. the slackers that fish with me would go lay up in the bow & sleep if i fed them any more!
as for what to make on the boat...
-bring kosher salt, lemons, limes, oranges, fresh peppers & cilantro for ceviche; soy & wasabi for sushi
-bring pre-cooked cold roasted chicken and/or a beef loin
-if you really want to treat em nice bring a half-sack of oysters, keep cold and shuck them on the boat
Krispy cream donuts or McDonalds Mcgriddles combo for breakfast....no coffee no OJ to acidic in three foot chop. Planters mixed nuts and or super sharp cheddar cheese with crackers for snackin.....Cheese pizza or fried chicken for serious hunger..........then after 10 hours on the water you gotta hit McDonalds on the way home! Drinks, gotta be icy cold....sprite, coke, pepsi, water, gatoraid, Budweiser. Just thinkin about makes me want to go fishing.
Obviously lots of water or Coors light (same thing).
One of my favorite snacks is baby carrots stored in a tupperware container w/water in the cooler.
Ice cold wet baby carrots just hits the spot.
Also, V8 juice, sliced pineapple, fruits.
Real food: ditto on the sandwiches. Keep bread and meats, cheeses sep until ready to eat.
bring red bull give to the crew when they are getting lazy, it's better to keep them a little hungry they work harder when you dangle the carrot(or steak back at the marina)
I really like cold fried chicken, its easy to keep and
eat.
I like the six packs of crackers, captains wafers, wheat and peanut butter
etc. easy to pack and eat.
Hard salami presliced and a sweet mustard dipping sauce, either JD
or Jim Beam make a really good sweet mustard just roll up the hard
salami slice and dip it in the jar. easy to pack and eat.
Sandwich fix'ins Tuna, Chicken salad, like its been said before keep
em seperate and fix it on the boat.
I read in a book I think about folks putting beans and rice, stuff like that,
that has to cook for 20 or 30 minutes in a large mouth thermos with
boiling hot water in the morning and by lunch time you can open the thermos
and eat it up. Haven't tried it yet.
There are about a zillion prepackaged dried meats.
Well yes I would be interested in a kingfish salad receipe.
Start the morning with superbiggulp @ 7 11 with wild stallion kicker(fountain Redbull) and eggmcmuffdiver-thats the drive to the boat. Also preseason stomach with 2 motrins and pepcid ac.

Here is what we take and seems to work for most trips. SM
I don't eat breakfast usually on fishing days, and in the warmer months here in South Texas fluids are more important than actual food. Actually most of the time I don't eat much either way. I have always not eaten much either fishing the surf or fishing in my boat. I can go an entire day on a 12 hour party boat on just beer and beef jerky. But most of the time we take the following:
Dr. Pepper
Bottled Water
Miller Lite for me/Mississippi Mud for my fishin' buddy
Cold Fried Chicken or Chicken Strips
Sausage and Cheese Wrapped in Tortillas
Beef Jerky
Dried Sausage
Snickers Bar
Shrimp Cocktail
