Default Anybody use a VHF-AM/FM band separator?

I was thinking about installing one of these on my center console and using my VHF antenna instead of installing a AM/FM antenna. It is more of a space issue more than anything else. Anyone else use one of these and if so how do you like it.

I had problems with a loose connection and anytime you add connections to your VHF antenna you're reducing its reliability. I changed to a separate little wire am/fm antenna. Good luck.

I bought one last year and will be hooking it up once the weather breaks. I asked a lot of people and I got positive feedback.

I have one on my second VHF antenna. It works fine.
I would however mount it where I can get to it, so I can bypass it if I needed to.

Why not just use one of the little rubber antennas inside the console area, fiberglass is "invisible" to a radio wave anyway.......

Been using one for several years without problem. Installed it with the radio so I don't have any comparison with other setups.

I've used one for years. Darthbaiter's suggestion is a good one though. I left extra cable so I can bypass the splitter and hookup directly to the VHF if there were to be a problem.

I have had one for a couple of years as well. It works exactly as advertised, not one problem.

I have one and to make a long story short, I think I will be removing it this spring.. As mentioned, I feel it reduces the effectiveness of the VHF. I will never substitute Safety for good FM reception.
