Yup! I have had these speakers on my last three boats and NEVER blown out a single one - I use the Infinity 6 X 9 Kappas in the back and the 6 inch circulars in the front. I swear by them -there are much better speakers out there, but not at the price (approx $120/pr)...I buy them off ebay - just search for "Infinity Marine Speaker"
I put two 6 x 9s from West Marine on my boat last year....hard exposure. We'll see what they look like in the long run but for the $100 bucks I spent on them they are ahead of the Jensons that I replaced and seem to be like new one year later.
If you have a t top, put the bose outdoor speakers pointing towards the drivers. Great sound. Also, the kenwood and pioneer 6.5's sound really good. I have two of the boses in the t top and two kenwoods flush mounted in the gunnels. The bose speakers make it easy to hear when you are running. The pioneers we have on our 24 foot champion and just two mounted on the sides of the center console jam. Just get a cd reciever that has enough power to push them. Hope this helps.
I have the 6X9 poly planers on the bridge. They are hooked up to a 4 channel 400 watt amp. They sound ok. I have heard better. I have a pair of 4" jbl's in the cabin and they sound much better.*
I found that the Standard Horizon and the JVC 6.5" 2 way speakers sound plenty good for my boat and they are dirt cheap. To qualify my statements a little, I am an audiophile at heart and generally only buy high end electronics for audio and video (Boston Acoustic, older Nakamichi amps, M&K, etc.), but I couldn't see spending $100-$200 a pair for the Polyplaners when the $30/pr cheapies sound almost as good. This is a boat afterall, not my listening room at home. I did go with the PolyPlaner CD player though. They seem to hold up better than the others I have tried.
I have two 6x9 and one 10" Sub that are Poly Planer and they sound great and have held up very well on my Judge 27 CC exposed to the weather all the time.
I have (4) bazooka 8" and have been really happy. If you look you can find them for around $90 a pair, but i think they are generally closer to $120-range
Listen to Glen E -- its what he does! Polyplanar are crap.....In Florida they hold up 12 months and are done. You will never know what you didn't have, until you get something better or different. I like the Infinity and JL audio.....then again my boat is a 1997 ---and I tend to keep things longer then most. .02

x2, replaced my crappy clarions with the kappas, and very happy.
If you can find the "older" model (602, iirc), they are much better looking IMHO (all whhite) than their replacement (the 605?) which l think look out of place on anything other than a ski boat.
