AMA,
That hull is AWESOME !!! Very dry and stable. Not the smoothest riding 25 out there, but not the worst riding either.

Absolutey bullet proof. That is the same hull used by the Coast Guard and Navy Seals. I can't say enough about it!

There are a handful of Whaler guys here that can attest. There is also a Whaler forum that has a wealth of knowledge on these boats.

http://www.continuouswave.com/whaler/

They are guys there that can tell anything you need to know about that hull.

That is a great hull

That's a terrible deal. Please e-mail me his name and number and I'll tell him for you.

About 8 years ago I walked away from a 25 with cuddy and twin 235 Rudes for $15K. I am still kicking myself. The boat is everything TexasWhaler claims it is.

Seriously, if you don't buy it. Let me know.

I have a 1989 22 whaler outrage... I just repowered last year with a 250 yamaha hpdi, (had a johnson 225 prior) the boat is build like a tank very strong hull... very stable in calm conditions and at drift or anchor, also very dry.... Its not the smoothest riding boat and it will give u a beating in bad head sea, great in a following sea...The outrage Hull has a relativly flat bottom, which will make it pound in a stiff head sea... very fast with the 250 hpdi, we hit 59.3 mph WOT and full tank of gas...Where will you be boating.. I use it mainly for fishing , and have been at far as 60 miles offshore in the northeast.

I owned that same boat for 8 years, used it very hard, runs of 40 miles each way often. The boat is very stable, fast { 40 mph, 4400 rpm -1986 mercs, 150 hp twin,} The boat will POUND you, Always felt like I was getting shorter owning that boat, & the boat was VERY wet. If NOT making long runs a GREAT boat.

AMA,

I currently own a 1991 25' Outrage W/whalerdrive bracket/cuddy twin carbed 150 Johnsons. Cruises at 30mph and tops out between 43-45mph(Same hull but, with bracket)Its a great hull thats proven, still manufactured today and sold by Whaler's commercial division...I use mine for fishing the Chesapeake bay and Offshore Ocean City Maryland. If the hull is in decent shape and offered for 6K cash, IT WON'T LAST LONG.....

trophyfish58,

whats great about any boating forum are all the opinions...I disagree with the hull being Very Wet... I make several runs 40-65 miles offshore each year, and its dry as a bone...It will pound abit in a head sea however, most boats do if not trimmed properly...

I loved that boat, but anytime the wind started blowing I put my overalls on quickly. I logged over 3000 hours on that hull & stand behind when I say it pounded. I'm also comparing it to the newer 24 degree hulls { which is not fair }. I'm the first to addmit that I ran that boat hard & faster than I should have, but simply no comparison in ride when it gets a little sloppy to some of the newer deep vee hulls.

As a former Whaler owner also, I too can confirm Whalers are pounders.I don't understand why we still think they are good boats,I know they are strong, but that's it!
