Default Shopping for a boat slip in the middle Ches Bay

I'm looking for a boat slip in the middle Chesapeake BAy area. I've gotten info from the larger marinas such as Norview, however I was looking to spend less money. Any suggestions?? I have a 25 foot boat and do not need a pool or electrcity, or a boat yard for that matter.

Thanks

Middle of the bay? How are you going to get to the boat? Swim?

Seriously how far north would you go?

Are you looking as far north as Annapolis?

I put in at the Norview ramp everytime I go to Deltaville - NICE place, nice folks, and all that you would need there! Maybe that's why they're more? But it's probably THE best marina in that area.

You might call Windmill Point Marina, DIRECTLY across the river from Broad Creek - they have been doing extensive renovations (which may or may not mean more $'s?) but are doing away with ALL of the covered slips (as we speak) and putting in floating docks. They were at the boat show in Jan. and will probably be at the one THIS weekend.

A few others I can remember in Broad Creek (where Norview is) are Chesapeake Cove Marina, Norton's Marina, Walden's Marina.

Deltaville Marina is around the corner just off the Piankitank, as is Fishing Bay Marina (west side of Stove Point), and Deagle's Marina (almost next door to Deltaville Marina).

Locklies Creek Marina is up the river in Locklies Creek (beside the White Stone Bridge).

Can't remember the name of the marina on Gwynn's Island - across from the Coast Guard Station - but they usually appear to have slips available, and a motel there. There are also a couple, I think, up in Cobb's Creek (west side of Gwynn's Island - on the "mainland").

There ARE a few smaller marinas in Broad Creek that have added new slips - across and up the creek from Norview - that don't have the fancier stuff you'll pay for at Norview. Can't remember the names of them?

You may want to ride down there before too long and investigate - before the "Spring rush"!

Hope this helps a little?

Regards,

You might want to check out Mike's Marine Service in Remlik Va where we keep our boat. 758-5450
About 2 miles north of Urbanna on the Rappahanock.
covered slip for your size I think is $150 per includes electricity and water.
great staff and a good bunch of folks, also has a pool.

Try calling Mobjack Bay Marina 804 7257245. I kept my boat their for 7 years and the rates are very reasonable. It is located in North,Va. which is just outside of Mathews, Va. The marina is located aaat the headwaters of Mobjack Bay. Fihing up in the Mobjack is great. If J. W. Boone is still running the place tell him Mike From Sleepy Hollow referred you.

Regards,
I was just over at Windmill Point yesterday. IMHO they will NOT be done by April 2005, as they have advertised. There larger boathouse is still standing, the seawall is not finished, and the are dredging by crane and bucket.

Oh, and Deagle's is right next to us at Fishing Bay Harbor Marina. I'll obey Wiley's advertising rules and not give out our rates or phone numbers, but if you don't want a pool or the other amenities, not to mention a high-quality marine fuel for least $ in the area , that's up to you!

Bruce is trying to think of Gwynn's Island Boatel, which is right next to Station Milford Haven, or the Narrows Marina, just on the other side of the bridge. I'm pretty sure the Narrows is all covered slips ~40 to 45', and if you are looking for NO, and i mean NOOOO frills, that may be your place.
