off shore, inshore, fast, slow, drift fishing, partying, trolling, cruising or sand bar parking? All boats are trade offs. For example I think the best riding 21 is the contender 21 but it aint a family boat (no seating). There are others with good seating but will beat you to death trying to get offshore. There are infinite responses to this question, all of which come with a caveat of being the best that one individual likes.

How do you figure 19' ? The specs say 21'-3" LOA, and there is no bracket or pulpit. Are you saying they measure the tabs?

Agreed. The one that served you well, that you had the most fun on.
Right now, I think the 22' I own is the best ever.
But, if the one being built I'm replacing it with ends up being what it should be, I'll have a different opinion this time next year...

Can run trip 350's also....

Gets 17mpg.... at 65mph....

This is the size boat that I have always run. I personally always come back to the Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman because of it's versatility. Just fits my needs better than any other boat out that being said The Layton 22 might be my next boat except without the raised platform in the bow or the E-tec. Carlton Layton is the grand daddy of boat building in NC.

Pacific 2025, safest boat available in that size, unbreakable hull, foam filled, self bailing, no glass boat comes close in durability.

Bluewater 21. It's just like the contender, except bigger and better in every way.

To be "Best" it has to be a 3 piece hull.
