Default Calcutta 263 build thread

Here is the start of a calcutta build thread . The boats are hand laid throughout . 100% wood free construction, The electrical system is hand wired with pre - tinned copper wire . Calcutta is factory direct , built to order. we do not build boats for stock inventory. every order is customer specified and we offer all motor brands. Single or twin engine set-up . Single and dual stations. T - top s with both soft and hard tops as well.
All boats come standard with 4 bilge pumps and 2 high water alarms , saltwater washdown and agm batteries. The anchor locker can handle up to 1000 feet of 8 plait rope . there are 4 large boxes with dry guttered hatches and a huge transverse box across the front with 2 hatches for access. The console has a front door that is split for easy access even with a large cooler in place. The seating / livewell center has a round 65 gallon well with large plexi lid and dual overflows. The transom has a "SEA GATE " system which allows an open transom when you want it or a closed transom as well. great for diving and pulling large fish on board.

Man, I love these boats. This will be my next boat unless someone comes out with an outstanding cat that is between 22-25' in the next few years. I drive by the factory on almost a daily basis and always try to get a peak inside when the big double doors are open to see what they are building.

One question I have is though, since they are all custom. Can I get one without a live well leaning post, I'm primarily a diver and it would just be wasted space for me.

yes you can get the boat without the livewell / seating module. We can put anything you want there. no problem.

we just delivered a twin Yamaha 115 boat. performance specs were as follows from the yamaha digital system .

Boat has a large t - top for extra shade and a tall windshield.

5900 rpm's
42 mph ( into the wind )

4000 rpm's
( GPS said 28 mph ) Yamaha guages read 30 mph off a little
3.2 mpg

3 blade yamaha props 18 pitch stainless

livewell empty
half a tank of fuel

same boat same day

15 knots

Light load. They were setting it up right after building it.
Two people on the boat and probably a half tank of fuel. Little bit of gear but not much

first one I saw in person was a couple of years ago in Boca Grande. Was at millers getting gas next to us and I noticed it right away. had never heard of them before then, not a big cat fan over all, but was taken back by how nice it was. really really cool boats!

I was in contact with Steve at the factory two weeks ago. He said they are too busy and won't be at the Miami show this year.

I'm going to go to the factory before the show instead.

Robert,

Any updates on the 263 build thread? It's been a couple weeks now since you started it.

Default wiring

Nope We hired 2 young guys that were journeyman house electrician's And I taught them how to wire boats my way. Not bad for their fourth boat. It just takes a little training that's all. They can rig out with a boat from start to finish. I can honestly say that all of our employees are very talented.

Give me one of these with a 7 ft folding tower, big nasty lean post live well and twin suzuki 140's and the Tarpon will significantly diminish in numbers this summer.

Glad to see things are going well over there.

Tortuga,

How about posting pictures from my build, Steve tells me you have started making the pieces? I would really like to see the whole process layed out since I can't be there to see it first hand.
