Have a 1900 with a 125. Runs in the high 30's loaded. It's a 94' model and has been a great all purpose boat. It's pulled pirogues to duck blinds and fished the "blue water rip" 25 miles out of Fourchon. I like the 2020 as well and think it's a good boat. If you're like me and not a speed demon then the 130 should be enough horse power.
I have a 2002 KW 2020WA Bluewater with Yammy 150....dry weight on mine is 1000# heavier and my Yammy pushes it well over 40mph so you should have no prob getting 38-39. Key West builds solid boats...you won't be disappointed.

thank you sir, what do you think roughly that I could get this fiited w/ a good t-top and lean post, nuthin fancy . thank semper perratus shield of freedom adam
Adam,
Best advice I can give is to shop around. If you haven't done so, look on NADA (as a guide, not as the rule) as well as the standard used boats sites to get and idea of the asking price range for similar boats. There are good deals out there, but you have to look for them. Wish I could help you with the T-top and leaning post pricing. I do not know where you are located, but I would contact the reputable local manufacturers as well as thouse that are within a reasonable range of your home. One thing to certainly consider though, regardless of the price, is how well they stand by their work. Perhaps posting that question with your location may yield more specific results and suggestions from THTers in your area. Good luck.

Although the 130 has been a great engine, it is being phased out by the 135, this will be the last year of production. The new BF135 is much more advanced, weighs less than the 130 and also burns less fuel.
Thank you sir,I just got a call from a guy in The keys, they are selling a 23 ft. scout sportfish,2002,warr. left,w/ f225,they say it is their demo boat for sea trials and has been maintained properly, loaded w/o a trailer for 33k,I wonder if it is a good deal and what a trailer would cost?? Adam
I had a honda 130 for two years and it was a great motor. I have a frien with a key west 2020 and he beats the crap out of it and it has held up extremely well. Its been beat up and doesn't have any stress cracks or other issues. I think its a good combination
I just purchased a world cat with 1999 honda motors, the bf130 of certin serial numbers are under recall. I recieved two power heads and short blocks (16,000 in parts) under warrenty, all i paid was 200.00 for a pair of oil changes. The whole process was painless and these new motors are performing great. You can call honda to see if any boat you are considering are under this recall.
A 2002 Scout 235 with a Yamaha F225 for $33K?* My first reaction is that is a super deal, but then I start thinking that*a 3 year old demo boat in the Florida Keys has probably been used quite a bit so maybe it's not sucha stellar deal.* It's certainly apples and oranges comparing a Scout 235 with a Key West 2020, however.
What happened to the Wellcraft you were considering?
Well I like the wellcraft, but I am leaning probablt more towards a couple of diff. possibilities and maybe used,my decisions are between a 2004 22 ft angler w/ 10 hrs on a f150 ,a 04 218 sail w/ fi50(trialed it on thurs, put deposit down) a 2350 sprtfish scout 2003 w/ f225 (used for demos at the dealership) and an 2003 2020 key west pretty well styripped w/ a 130 4s honda. I am actually having to wait until I close on my home refi w/ dollars out to buy,so I have 10-14 days. decisions, decisions and I realize the pros and cons for new vs used. adam
