It is gonna take some time tooling, but the boat could potentially make the Miami show. From what I saw at the factory; Nor-tech's fit and finish and attention to detail can't be beat. I have ridden on a lot of boats and I expect the 39 Nortech to be the best riding roughwater boat I have encountered; plus she is extremely fast.

Tron, Terry, and the Nortech staff are the most intelligent and innovative boat-building staff I have ever witnessed; and very classy guys to boot. Adding Alden Thornton to the staff is a huge bonus and I am confident these guys are gonna build a fishing boat that will quickly find it's way to the top of it's class.

You gonna trade in the Fountain?

39 is the start, then the 43 and 34 after they perfect the 39 TE layout.

That's a good question, BTW. I was aware of this and I spec'd the 32 yellowfin with solid glass below the waterline. I also insisted on alum fuel tanks vs glass prior to them switching over on all boats. Even though solid glass is an option I've never seen anyone advertise that they opted for this feature on a yellowfin, new or used. I'd also consider vacuum bagged corecell over balsa, but I guess that is just me. I wouldn't consider myself uneducated or a YF basher, just someone who wouldn't by a balsa cored yellowfin over a non balsa cored yellowfin.

For Nortech, something has to be said about a company that leads the market building boats in the 200mph range and now produces center console fishing boats. I don't care for Fountain one bit, but the Nortech sure is sweet.

I would imagine a solid glass bottom would give you a very rough ride. Some people who have rode a 38 Fountain have prefered the smoother ride of the YF's because the Fountain is solid glass. Kind of like comparing mono to braid, there just aint no give in braid.

They are a bad ass company that builds som bad go fast boats but they do not lead the way by no means. There are a lot more companies that build some faster boats and way nicer. Not taking anything away from nor tech. Just go to a big poker run and see what's out there the MTI is a bad boat. Skater leads the way in the fastest cat boats. Then if you want to see a really custom look at the statement. Or the mystic so they don't lead they way in big offshore boats they do build a decent boat though.
Now let me say this it's nice that they are building to the fishermen. I contacted them to talk to Terry about building a boat for the ska when they first came out. They did say they would build one but at that point in time they were not going to change the molds for anything they would buy a third party console or leaning post because the team I fished with didn't want a big console. They didn't have a leaning post live well mold yet and didn't see the need in building one. Now this was almost two and half years ago it was right before the boat shows. Then after the shows they called back saying they would do what it took to make the boat the way we wanted it.

have you ever rid in a solid glass bottom 39 NT.. A proper bottom design, step location and other various things are also good factors to a good ride.. The NT rides better in the rough vs the 36 YF..never been on a 39 YF.....The NT also gets on plane with less bow rise and planes out at 12mph with the water in between both steps.

I always wondered the same about the solid vs Balsa core so I asked Reggie at the plant one day and he said the additional flex will slow the boat down. You do achieve higher top end and cruise with a less flexible hull. But like has been said many times before it is all what you are looking for. I can say after owning 2 38 Fountains I thought it beat the crap out of me. Some may write it off as I didnt know how to drive it but I dont think that was the case.
