BALTIMORE BOAT SHOW GROWS WITH NEW NAME, BIGGER BOATS
Former Chesapeake Bay Boat Show Set for January 22-30, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore’s largest, oldest and best retail boating event will be all new in 2005. The Chesapeake Bay Boat Show produced by National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) will be reintroduced with a new name – the Baltimore Boat Show (BBS). The 2005 Show will be held January 22-30, 2005 at the Baltimore Convention Center in downtown Baltimore, with expanded weekday hours.

“Changes to the Baltimore Boat Show reflect the evolution of this successful show,” says NMMA Northeastern Regional Show Manager Michael Duffy. “We want our visitors to more easily identify the biggest show in Baltimore--the one that they eagerly look forward to every year. Weekday hours have been expanded to accommodate boating enthusiasts who work downtown and to give consumers more time to shop. We’re also adding more space to better showcase the variety of boating options.”

In January 2005, the Baltimore Boat Show will add 30,000 square feet of exhibit space; this brings the show space to a total of 215,000 square feet. The additional exhibit area will allow for larger yachts (over 35’) and an expanded personal water craft area. The show will feature more than 500 luxury motor yachts, performance boats, sport fishing boats and personal water craft, as well as engines and equipment, navigation devices, nautical accessories and apparel.

More than 150 manufacturers and distributors will present the newest products and introduce the latest technology.

The Baltimore Boat Show will also feature live entertainment and educational seminars by nationally renowned boating and fishing experts.

The Baltimore Boat Show opens Saturday, January 22 and runs through Sunday, January 30.

Hours for the show are:

Saturdays, January 22 and 29, 11 am – 8 pm
Sundays, January 23 and 30, 11 am – 6 pm
Monday – Friday, January 24-28, Noon – 8 pm.

The Baltimore Boat Show will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center at Pratt and Howard Streets in downtown Baltimore.

For complete show information, visit www.baltimoreboatshow.com.

The Baltimore Boat Show is produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the world's largest producer of boat shows. NMMA is the leading association representing a $30 billion a year recreational boating industry. NMMA member companies produce over 80 % of the boats, engines, trailers, accessories and gear used by boaters and anglers in the U.S. For more information, visit www.NMMA.org.

I'll be there but I'll leave the checkbook home! It's a good place to get ideas on how to make your inexpensive boat into a luxury model. This year I'll remember the camera.

I have never been impressed with the show. Why not the Atlantic City Show?

I go to Balt, DC and AC. AC is by far the best. Last year for the first time since I have gone to the shows the DC was better than the Balt. The Balt has become worse and worse every year in my opinion. The only good part is that it lasts an entire week....

I'm planning to skip the Baltimore show this year for the same reasons already listed. I have a fond spot for the Baltimore show since that is where I saw my first Pursuit Denali, but there are better shows out there. We did AC for the first time last year and can't wait to get back to that show.

Fish Cop - The AC show probably has more accessories than the Annapolis in the Water Show and has some different vendors that you will not see in MD. The AC show is woth going to, we spend at least 1/2 the time or more in the accessories section. We go every year and it really breaks up Feb, the only downside is you end up spending some money. B -Faithful sorry to jump on this before you so go ahead and provide your take.
