I was browsing the Trophy web site the other night and when looking through the 2005 online showroom I noticed that the 2302 WA was missing from the list. I was specfically looking for the 2302 in order to download a picture of the extended hard top to show someone. Well, when looking tonight the 2302 was added back and on the first page it is a different boat! It has the euro transom like the 1952, 2502 and all the center consoles and no pulpit. The pictures in the gallery still show the older hull design but the main page and floor plan page show a new model. And the other two 23 foot models (2352 and 2359) still show the older hull designs.
So I guess it's true. All the Trophy WAs are going to be euro transom boats. I had heard the 20 foot was going to that model hull next year which was one of the reasons I purchased it this year (2005). I don't particularly like the euro transoms and I like the pulpit for anchoring and not marring the hull. You can see the picture I'm referring to here:

You can also see some of the features by selecting floorplan on the left side.
Doing a price comparison this new 23 foot WA costs more than either the 2352 (I/O) or the 2359 (I/O pilot house) when equipped similarly. And it has a galley as an option whereas the 2352 doesn't. The 2302 is now a $60K MSRP boat with a Mercury 225hp EFI 4 stroke and fully configured. That is approximately $1K more than the 2359 (pilot house) with the 5.0L MPI engine, FWC, Bravo III and fully equipped. Apparently it can be had with twins (though not listed) since one of the options is smart craft guages for twin engines. I'm sure this adds considerably to the price above.
The 2302 LOA is 23' while the 2352/2359 is 23' 5" BUT the 2302 does not have a pulpit. That SHOULD make it more roomy than the 2352. The 2359 might have more room by virtue of the pilot house. As far as weight the 2302 is 600# lighter than the 2352. That difference can't be all motor because the weight difference in the 20 foot boat going from OB to I/O is only 150#. It won't be much more than that.
Don't get me wrong, this is a sharp looking boat. I just prefer the square transom like the older models have. It seems to have all the nice features for a fishing boat/basic family cruiser. The price is now getting into the upper mid tier walk around boats so be prepared for a little sticker shock on these.
