I don't want this to sound like all the other bay boat threads on the page but it may end up that way. I own a 2002 Sea Pro 2100 bay boat and overall, am thoroughly happy with the boat. I do have a few things that irk me so I thought I would ask you guys.
First of all, all of my hatches flex, and when I say flex, they creek and crack when you step on them and if you stand in the middle, they feel almost like you are going to fall through. Does anyone else have this problem? I am sure they are stronger than I realize but I don't think they should flex that much. Furthermore, they have hairline cracks in them from stress that are anywhere from 8-10 inches long. Second, it seems like Sea Pro could have done a better job wiring the boat. If you look under my console its not only a maze of wires, but its a messy maze. I realize wiring a boat is going to be tough but all they did was tie the wires together and let it be. I also noticed on most other boats that they have the switches all connected to a bus. Not on Sea Pro. I also feel that SeaPro uses smaller wire than everyone else.
I have also had to replace two pumps on my boat thus far which is a contortion act in itself. If you look at other boats, you will notice how the back is nicely laid out and there is ample room to get to the pumps (pathfinder TE). In the sea pro you have a small access hatch and an inspection hole to get to a pump in the bottom of the boat. Not to mention, the pump sits between the two which mean you get to do most of the work by feel.
I know boats are a lot of upkeep but for a saltwater boat, I feel that I work on this boat more than I fish. The hull on the boat is great and structurally I could not ask for more. Are some more suited for the elements than others. I take meticulous care of my boat and yet it is always an uphill battle. Can people please respond with other seapro, pathfinders, rangers, palmetto etc. Are these boats that much better and worth the extra money? I would like to get a new one, but I am lost even if I had an unlimited budget. Are the new SeaPros a lot better and have they worked out the quirks? I really like the layout of the Baybolt but its almost too big for what I like to do. I think that boat is too big for a trolling motor up front which is what I like. I am just wondering what everyone else out there has and if they have as much trouble as I do. Thanks for taking the time to read

and please respond if you have any insight
