Default Storing Tandem Torsion Trailer on blocks ?

During the off season, I want to raise my trailer off the ground. I need to do this so I can keep the motor vertical over winter and I think it would be good for the tires also.

My question is, should I store it so that the suspension is loaded (i.e. put blocks under the sprung portion of the torsion axle behind the wheel), or should I put the blocks under the solid axle so that the suspended part is hanging down?

It would seem to me that unless the ground is perfectly flat, that the weight would not be evenly distributed unless the blocks were under the suspended part of the axle.

Never thought about it.* I also have*torsion axles.* I store on the tires.* I think you'll find it will have less load if you put stands under the frame, the torsion suspension will only then have the weight of the axles and tires, etc.* The other way, obviously,*will still carry the load of the sprung weight.* I'd like to hear what others say.* * I would think the intent is to keep load off tires, first.* Anyway you do it, I don't see as a problem for a few months.

I see it as six or one half a dozen. But IF I were to be doing it, I would do it under the frame. Torsion bars do eventually get tired and need a crank or two - so give them a small meaningless break.

I think I figured it out. If I elevate the rear axle up on blocks under the rigid/solid part of the axle (as far outward towards the axle ends of course), then the trailer will be sitting on a three point stance which will prevent it from being flexed unevenly over the winter.

Actually, I owe credit to my older, more experienced brother for helping me out with this idea.

I agree with Garett. Put jackstand under the frame and take the weight off the critical parts, at least during winter storage. It can't hurt...
