Default rust stains

Bought an older whaler to fix up.it has rust stains all over the inside and out side. It may even have the scum stains as talked about in the earlier post. Whats the best stuff to use that wont affect the wires or steering cable to clran it up

Zud - slightly abrasive (like Comet), but the oxalic acis gets rid of rust stains quick.

For cleaning rusty metal, naval jelly (phosphoric acid, I think) works well. Replace those fitting with stainless though.

Lysol toilet boal cleaner for the scum line stains.

Get the rust stain remover spray from Boater's World or others it works well and quickly, it is oxalic acid also.*

I left a coffee can on the deck of my boat a few days. Big rust stain. I bought rust stain remover at West Marine and it worked great. That was after trying everything else in the house including CLR.

available at most marinas and stores is Mary Kate detail cleaner - it is safe for the fiberglass and most other materials on the boat.....

Davis FSR. You can get it at Boater's World, etc. It will clean anything and you don't have to worry about getting it on your skin.

Bar Keepers Friend removes every stain I've ever had.
