Default Blackfin 25

I am looking at an older Blackfin 25 Fisherman with a single Crusader.
I know something of the history.
Anyone have words of advice regarding the ride or what to ask?

Great little boat, nice deep vee, low cog and really impressive ride. Get a hull survey to check stringers and such and go for it!

I really like that boat and they ride like tanks. That said they do not impress with either speed or fuel economy.

I had a 1980 25 combi with a single 454 crusader. The ride was great!! Handling around the dock not so great, in fact down right terrible! One concern would be the fuel tanks. They are foamed in and the only way to get them out is to cut the back deck. Also, as someone said above have a surveyor check out the deck and stringers.

I know someone who is selling an older blackfin with a command tower on it and inboard diesel. It's a hell of a work horse boat and rides strong and efficient. He's located in key biscayne. PM if interested.

I have a '79 25' Fisherman with a 454 c.i. Crusader that I rebuilt several years ago at 3200+ hours. Everything that has already been posted is correct. Sometimes in backing you might have to go 270 degrees to port when your intention is to turn the bow 90 degrees to starboard, but aside from its low speed close quarters handling it is by far my favorite of all the boats I have had. The 454 is thirsty, speed is not blinding, but the hull will always bring you home. Buy it!
