Default Gas gage

The fuel gage in my boat isn't working; I traced the issue back to the negative connection at the tank. It appears connection rusted off. When i went to remove it and clean it, the male came right off the tank. How can i fix this?

Thanks

Default RE: Gas gage

If it's the wire terminal that came off, then simply strip back some wire insulation and add a new connector. If it's the piece of the sending unit that corroded off, you'll have to replace the whole sending unit. Sending units are usually held to the top of the tank with 6-8 screws. Match-up the old one to a new one at any marine retailer. Usually under $30.00. They come with instructions to install and calibrate, and it's an easy job to do. Disconnect the neg side of battery, or switch to "off" to avoid a spark.
