Default Tackle Station in a 26 Regulator?

Has anyone found a source to replace thier provided trays?

The trays are 13"x 9" and seem to be a bit of an odd shape. Called Regulator and they gave me the manufacture's number but they don't seem to carry that size.

I just want some that can be custom divided or have more than six dividers as these do.

Plano and everyone else's boxes are too wide to fit in the cabinet. This is the Regulator provided leaning post
I went by the dealer's place to make sure and all the boats in the yard had the same boxes. The boxes work great for some things but hooks, swivles and the like would get lost and mixed up real quick!

IF YOUR TALKING ABOUT THE DRAWERS ON THE SIDES, A FRIEND OF MINE MADE ME DIVIDERS FROM STARBOARD, AND THEY CAME OUT GREAT...AS FOR THE TRAYS ON THE BACK, MY REGULATOR DEALER HAD DIVIDED AND UNDIVIDED TRAYS...THEYA ARENT THE GREATEST, BUT THEY GET THE JOB DONE.

The trays in the back are what I am trying to find.

The ones I have now are divided into six compartments but I do not need ten of the same type.

I also want some 12 and 24 compartment trays. I would prefer something of better quality also. These have no lid snaps and would likely spill the contents if dropped.

I'd also like to find some new boxes that will fit. I looked for a long time after I got my 23 and couldn't find anything that would work. If i recall, the manufacturer does make some that are/can be divided up more, but they won't sell to an individual.

I called Regulator yesterday and they said that they went with this brand due to the better quality! I just don't see that.

Regulator is trying to find a solution as well. I just want some boxes that will hold all the different sized small stuff and keep it organized!

Search here for starboard custom work for Ideas and find a shop that will build you some custom
styled box's and have the rabbit the edge for a 1/8" plexiglass cover to slide in from one side !

that way you can have the verious compartments built to suit you !

I am already doing that for the drawers myself but it would be a lot easier to find Plano styled boxes......

I may have to do a custom job but that is going to be a load of work. Time is limited these days.....

The local dealer does not have any. Send me the number for yours. I want to call them in the morning.

Tunab- If I can find the ones I want I will work something out for you on the extra standards I have. They are new/ never been used.

Very interesting!! I had this exact conversation with the national sales manager from Regulator. I told him that the boxes were odd size and that they did not match the other boxes on the market. They also need a positive locking system so you could carry them home in a tackle bag and not worry about them opening up and spilling the entire contents out!! I have a 2005 Regulator 26 on order and I asked them to delete the rear tackle insert so I could have one custom made. The standard boxes from Shimano, Plano etc are 14 " x 9" and do not fit in the locker. I have contacted www.spacemkr.com, they are a custom marine fabricator. They are going to make a insert to fit exactly in the same space as the 2 inserts from Regulator except they will be able to receive the plano waterproof boxes with positive latches. I wish Regulator would change there design to accept normal boxes that are readily available from local tackle centers. I hope they are listening!!! If you are looking for a couple of replacement boxes from Regulator I may have a few!!!!!

Thanks Squiddly!

I have been talking with Christy at Regulator in Custormer Service BTW Jessie. She has been helpful but says they have never heard about these boxes being a problem.

Sure would be a home run to have the boxes to match the other ones that I use.

I suppose if anyone wanted to, it would be possible to custom fabricate a different type of tackle station to accomodate the normal 14 x 9's It wouldn't be much to retrofit something, Personally I think I'm cool with the standard ones. I have a huge shimano bag that comes on and off the boat with my inshore stuff.. And an even bigger tupperware style box for all the offshore stuff.. I just want to replace the ones that are missing..

I can vouch for the busting, all it took was a big wake at the wrong moment and one of them fell off my post and smashed on the deck. Hinges broke and it is now unuseable. I'd lioke tougher and better-sealing boxes too. If anyone comes up with a good custom solution I can go in on, please post!
