RE: McKee Freedom 22 I didn't take any pics, and I don't think its in a brochure yet. At first I thought it was a Freedom 23/24. Very sharp boat!!!! Two good size fishboxes in the rear deck and a huge forward box in the deck. Has the same fold down step at the bow as the 24. Don't particularly care for that, but with the level deck and high bow, its probably the best option. Lots of tackle storage in the rear of the leaning post, good size console with batteries (3) installed in enclosed forward part. Console door is a little tight for my fat a$$, but ok. Forgot to mention in the first post, but in my opinion, the anchor locker is way small. Everything considered, it packs alot into a 22 ft. boat, and with just a couple changes would be absolute tops! I did notice that it had a flat "pad" at the stern, vs. the V going all the way back. Maybe for stability? One other feature that I liked was that you can get to the underside of the gunwales. Does not have any rod/gaff storage on the inside of the hull. I think this one may have been a prototype, so maybe some of these items can be integrated to production models. Was powered with twin 140 Suzis. Didn't check to see what the max hp capacity was. |
