Default loadmaster trailer cost

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a float on trailer. I checked out a loadmaster 10,500lb
24 to 26' boat. disk brakes, brake rinse system, torsion axels. I was quoted a price
about $4000.00. Is this a good price? the trailer is brand new.

Chris,

How many axles of brakes? (a 10500# is a tri-axle)
Why would you go with drum brakes? (rinse kit = drum brakes)
SS Hardware?
Front Center Boards?
Spare Wheel/Tire?
Spare Spindle, Hub & Packed Bearings?

If this is the Sportline model advertised in Boat Trader (online) beware that it does not carry the same warranty and has bias ply tires instead of radials. The Sportline is a budget trailer with quite a few differences from a true Loadmaster.

It's hard to say if it's a good price or not without knowing the details.

Steve

it definately is a tri-axel, includes front bunks. As far as the rinse kit goes, I know it has
kodiak disk brakes, but I'm almost positive it has a rinse kit also. it is loadmast not
sportline. It comes with spare tire and wheel. He didn't mention SS hardware, so I
assume that would be an upgrade.

To my knowledge there is no such thing as a rinse kit for disc brakes.

Kodiak makes three types of disc brakes. All are a different cost. It also depends on how many axles have brakes. The first axle of brakes is the most expensive as it includes the surge coupler, reversing solenoid and brake lines. The 2nd and 3rd axle of brakes are less expensive than the first.

Once again, it's hard to say if it's a good price without knowing all the details (i.e. type of disc brakes and the number of axles that have brakes).

I know front 2 axles have brakes, I don't know what kind of brakes, other than kodiac disk.
should I request a certain kind. I don't trailer my boat that often, mostly use the trailer
for storage, and a couple vacation trips a year. Are there any questions I should be
asking the dealer? If it isn't obvious by now, I don't know a lot about the different option.

From reading this and other message boards Most people seem to be very happy with
Loadmaster trailers. My 1st trailer was a venture roll on. I hated that thing from day 1.
I know I definately want a bunk trailer with disk brakes. I know I want front bunks, spare
tire, and surge brakes. What else should I be considering? Like I said before, Usually
the boat is kept in the water. I use the trailer for storage, and some vacation trips and
when I have to pull the boat for maintance.

Chris,

I usually recommend either the Kodiak SS disc brakes (6 year warranty) or the Kodiak Silver Cadmium Plated disc brakes (2 year warranty). I really depends on how much you want to spend, usage and where you store the trailer. The SS disc brakes are significantly more expensive and have better corrosion resistant properties.

You may want to consider the option of a spare spindle, hub & packed bearings if you ever plan to tow any distance. From my experience, Loadmaster builds a top notch trailer.
