Default Yam. f225 ?

My f225 is turning 6,000 rpm's at WOT with a 17 pitch prop. Yamaha manual says WOT operating range is 5,000 to 6,000 rpm's amd maximum output is at 5,500 rpm's. My speed is in the proper range. Is 6,00 rpm's to much? Should I consider a prop with a different pitch? Thanks.

6000 at WOT is fine.

17" prop was used in factory testing. Check this link: Sailfish 236 w/ F225

Yeah 6000 is fine if you loaded lightly and you will probably prefer that setup.

But if 6000 is your loaded number you may want to think about stepping up to a
18. At the very least it will give you a little better cruise numbers.

I'll continue to monitor it. I had 90 gal of fuel and six adults when running. Motor is new, I'm wondering what other 236 owners are using and what setup they have.
