Default 2004 250 HPDI reverse won't work

I have a new 250 HPDI with twenty two hours that the reverse quit. I was at the boat ramp, put the gear in reverse
to back away form the dock, the rpm's increased but the boat did not move. Could gears go out in so short of time?
Its just past the break-in point. Any comments?

Sounds to me like the linkage. That is the first thing I would look at, also it should still be underwarranty.

ALso did it work in forward??

With the 250HPDI you should feel lucky it has forward. Don't worry about reverse. Also you may want to switch to Amsoil.

Everready.......check the linkage.....that is the*problem that fits your symptoms.* Also, don't pay much attention to the amsoil idiots.....that subject got beat to death about a month ago.....and your lubrication has nothing to do with your symptoms.....if it did, forward wouldn't work either.

Don't knock the Amsoil too much, I put it in my truck, and now my outboard runs better!
