I think that they are the same - the second one is for 66 feet... I guess I'm going to need a bigger boat...

Have you tried these? I'm wondering what the difference would be between rope lights, leds from yachtlighs and the ones from coastalnightlights. I may be looking for a low cost winter project.

I think both of these guys would be a better bet. I know for a fact that Chris at Coastal Night Lights will stand behind his product, and I believe yachtjim will too. There is also another guy bumster I believe that has some for sale, seems like a stand up guy as well.

What are you going to do with 12' of lights? I'll tell you what man, the ones you are looking at are full of crap. We had some for decorating some posts and they only lasted like a week, imagine pounding on a boat and getting wet.

my cockpit is 6' long. the rope lights dont seem super bright. i want the light even, not bright in the middle of the cockpit and dim at the front and back.

http://www.yachtlights.com/item--LED-Rope-Light--RL-LED

After reading the posts I am starting to see a pattern. But advice being what it is I will offer mine. You get what you pay for. 100.00 to 150.00 to have a top quality product that at least three members here including myself will stand behind. If you think there is a comparison you are wrong. The LED tape you see here for 8 -18 dollars a foot has VHB double sided tape to secure it. No screws no brackets just clean peel and stick. super bright and very even light. Bottom line is you get what you pay for and 8.00 for 6 ft is worth every penny but not a penny more. And you dont get this effect from it. Of course this is only my opinion

Stay away from that ebay crap, it is just that...crap. I'll be sending Rob (Xtreme owner) his 1' strip back when the bulbs crap out in 5 years...about 40,000 hours!

Bumster, What size is the boat and how many lights are installed to give that effect in your signature?

That is an Aquasport 245 he has 4 ft in each gunwale and a 3 ft strip on the frt of the t-top and a 3 ft strip on the rear of the top. the lights are on a two switches so they can be all on or just the top or just the gunwales. 10.00 per ft cut to size with marine grade wiring. The owner is a member here, Flounderpounder
