Default Johnson 115 2 stroke vs Yamaha carbed 115

Sadly I lost my boat to Charley. I am considering replacing her with a Bluewave 190 Special C ,with some nice options, powered by a Johnson 115 (13.5K) , or a standard model 190 BLuewave Special C, powered by 2 stroke carbed Yami 115 (12.9K). Both boats are end of the year specials at different dealers. I like the option package on the one with the Johnson, but I am unable to find many online opinions on Johnson efficiency or dependability. They do seem to have a pretty good top end. I have always owned Merc engines and have had pretty good luck with them. However, most folks seem to really like their Yamahas. I would appreciate any thoughts on Yamaha Vs Johnson 2 stroke carbed engines. Efficiency and dependability far outweigh top end speed for me.
Thanks

My 115 03 johnson starts a lot easier than my 03 yamaha 115 did. Efficiency is about identical!!! A typical fishing day with trolling yields 3mpg if I go by my odometer on my gps. Personaly the only advantage/ disadvantage I realy could argue is the non declining 2 year warranty from bomb,v.s. the declining 2 year warranty from yamaha! Luckily I have had no warranty claims with either.

My previous boat was a bluewave 189 c special with a 115 johnson carbed. I only had it for two and a half years but it was a good engine. sold it to get more of an offshore style boat. I now have a 150 carbed yamaha. both are good motors. the yamaha is a little more cold natured. I don't think you could go wrong with either of them.

Very good luck with the Johnson Offshore series. Just sold it with 2400 hrs. No problems. Like it a lot better than my newer Merc.
