Default Pathfinder 19

looking @ PF 19. Any owners out there? Dealers are trying to tell me the 19 is not worth having as they want to sell me a new 20. Also the 19 is slightly used and has a 150 VMAX

It all depends on price. If the 20' is only $1000 or $1500 more then go for it. If the 19 is significantly cheaper then go with it.

Thank you for considering a Pathfinder. There is nothing "wrong" with a 19 Pathfinder. It had been in our line for several years and there is a large number of them on the water with very happy owners and users. We found that it was just time for the 19 to get a new look. We saw a need in the market for a 20 foot boat that has same characteristics and fishing abilities as our 22 foot models. That being the case, the 19 and 20 were too close in size to continue to build the 19. There are not many new 19 footers in dealer's inventories. Most dealers who have them have some really good clearance prices.

The most common engine on the 19 was a 115, either 2 or 4 stroke, depending on the year model. The people I have spoken with who have the 150 say it is a really fast boat and overall they like the performance of that set-up. Generally, you can't much go wrong with finding a good used one and, as you'll notice, they hold their value very well.

If you have any other specific questions, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-Shallow (after we recover from the hurricane) or check out our forum on our web site at www.maverickboats.com.

I went fishing alongside (not with) a 19' Pathfinder a few weeks ago and got a chance to see the boat in action over a few days and in varying weather. It was equipped with a 115 4 stroke.

The boat looked to track and handle chop quite well. The fellow who owned it is a fishing guide and he had no major complaints. The only peaves he mentioned was a tendancy to get wet feet when a couple of guys were at the transom at the same time and some problems with the Lenco tabs (which in fairness to Lenco he did say they had given him excellent response time getting replacement parts).

It wasn't a speed demon with a 115 but since it handled chop well it was just as fast as my 18' with a 150 2-stroke except when the water was calm.

What dealer would say such a thing? I think maybe you misunderstood.

It adds up like this. PF 19 with 150 Vmax 23,500 with 4 stroke 26,000. PF 20 with 4 stroke 30,000
