Default Hull is different color

I just removed some factory vinyl on my Striper. I used Bio-solv It seemed to allow me to pull the vinyl off in strips. I could see where some adhesive was left. I removed it. Here is the question. The hull underneath the vinyl is a shiny light tan color. The rest of the boat is white. The biosolv doesn't do anything to the light tan. Is that the original color and the rest of the boat is heavily oxidized or is there more of the vinyl left. How do I get rid of it either way. I want to use poli glow and they say your boat has to be one color or it will lock the different shades in
Thanks

You don't say how old the boat is. My guess is that the color under the vinyl is the original color of the gel coat. Try putting some compound on the oxidized area and see what color you get.

Yup thats the original color under there and the rest of the boat is oxidized. Time for rubbing compound and then polishing compound on top of that . I like the 3M products but there are tons out there. It will take alot of work and you will probably always be able to see the outline of the old vinyl but you will have to look harder for it.

just went through this with my Scout..here is what I had to do
1 wet sand 600
2 wet sand 1000
3 wet sand 1500
4 compound
5 polish
lots of work, but worth it. plus the boat looks brand new, good luck
before

after

even all that wont take it all out, but it will be almost unnoticeable
