Default Question on Texas boat registration

If a resident of Texas purchases a boat from Alabama, what would be the process required to register the boat in Texas? Alabama does not issue titles for boats. I know in other states, you need the current registration and a bill of sale. Thanks for any insight.

Wouldn't it be better to post this in the Gulf Coast Forum that boaters from Texas and Alabama frequent?

Here is a link to the current TX Regs for boat and motor registration:

Texas requires BOTH the boat and motors to be registered.

Make sure the bill of sale has the serial #'s of the hull and motor.

Texan resident here, I purchased a Sea Cat Catamaran from Florida and the outboards are not titled in Florida. I acquired the proper paper work filled in the blanks paid a fee and had titles generated by the state of Texas. It was a no big deal. Info was simply the make, model, s/n #'s and bill of sale.
