Random Quote: Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Default Anyone take a boat from Sandusky to New York?

I am trying to figure out what I am potentially looking at to get a boat from the Great Lakes to the east coast. Anyone here make that trip? I am open to ideas.

I know someone who just finished the short circle route. Chatham, MA. down the East coast, thru FL, over to Mobile, up to Great Lakes, (trailered 400 or so miles to make life easy) up the St Lawrence, down to Vt., continue to NY (Harlem River and all), and back to the Cape. Had a great time and said he would do it again it was so much fun. This is from someone who NEVER does the same thing twice. This was done in a 30 Crosby.

Here's what I know. Good friend of mine's son delivers boats any where on the east coast. I got to talk with him last month when he was in after just delivering a boat from FL. to Ohio ( Catawba Island Club ) He said it's a day across Erie to the Whelen canal anywhere form a day to a week to clear the Whelen locks. A week to do the erie canal into the Potomac. then a week to go south in and out of the intercoatal to the sun shine state. I hope to do the trip some day We dock in west harbor.

I need to do some more research since I would move it myself if we do it on it's own bottom. Thanks.
