Default Virginia Fishing License

I will be visiting Virginia in about a month for a week of fishing. Althought I used to live there, I do not remember the license requirements. I have not looked on the net yet, but I will.

Can one of you tell me the proper license I need?

We will be fishing my nephew's new Regulator and probably be offshore all the time. Weather permitting, of course.

Many thanks,

Bob

Bob,
You can buy a boat license which allows 5 people to fish without one. Ask him if his boat has one.

Boat license is the way to go in VA for saltwater fishing.

Here's the site that has all the info you need and you can purchase your license online and print it out.

Many thanks guys. Looks like the internet is the easiest way to go with this need.

My nephew is in the Navy and is at sea. Due back soon. The boat is new and being rigged right now.

I will probably get the 10 day deal if it is available to non-residents.

I left Virginia to return home to Texas in 1978 and could not remember the details. I had a small boat and fished salt in the Bay and up a few of the rivers. Could not take it 'outside'.

I am looking forward to returning to Va for a while and seeing how much it has changed. I lived in Petersburg, worked in Richmond, and hung out at the coast as much as I could.

Thanks again and good fishin'............

Bob
