Boat in consideration - Need advice - The Hull Truth

I have seen this boat in person, it is ok I think he could have taken better care (cleaning and the like) but seems to be very solid, plan on sea trial this wednesday

Any thoughts on these boats to buy? bottom fishing 90% of time for new to boat ownership in saltwater?

As far as fishing I want to go for grouper and the like some shark maybe just deep water fun.. been on lots of charters but never alone

So this is first boat want to learn ins and outs before I invest big $

Want a good ride and be safe plan to buy a sea tow membership as well

15 year old hull and 9 year old engine needs a survey /sea trial.

If they check out, see what he will take and go boating.

Take a safety good course.

I think the price is a little high......I would offer 7500...............look on EBAY and see what boats similar are going for...........You might be surprised. My buddy just sold almost the exact boat with a Merc and trailer for 7 grand and he delivered it!

stay away from that engine bud, those 2000-2001 mercs were terrible. get a good engine survey and take a seatrial

Also you may want something with a transom, not wide open to the ocean.

That is an EFI, not an OPti. I wasn't aware of any problems for that year EFI, maybe someone else can confirm

yep. you're right. the efi's were thirsty, but bulletproof.
