Having followed this thread and the other I feel TBS deserves a new hull and motors. I too believe C builds a hellofa fishing machine. I have spent many hours on the 31, 31T and also a 33T. They rock. They are built to perform as the ads that Joe knows nothing about state.
After all the repair attempts and to still have a boat literally cracking apart is not right.
Like any manufacturer a bad products slips out every once in a while.
How it is handled from that point on is where the injustice began in this case.
All the accusations and off character testimony makes me think that this is more than just a warranty case. It has gotten personal.
Deep pockets normally prevail in these situations. As everyone has stated "Cousin Vinny" did a fine job of presenting the case against the BIG DOG's and won a pretty decisive verdict.
After all the BS that TBS has been put through for the last 2 years they need to be made whole. Their Hull is a POS and does not represent the quality C is known for. No matter how hard a boat is run there shouldn't be that kind of gel coat cracking.
Contender should replace the hull and throw new motors into the deal as a plus.
They can repair the other hull and regain a large amount of their money back.

I for one don't.

If the hull is sh$t.....you can't acquit....

Well I had refrained from a comment here. But like everybody else I join the band.

No don't repair the old hull. Strip it and learn from the mistake then dump it. No need to subject another customer to the same misery.

Not all Cs are trash. This is just that mfg mistake all mfgrs make. C makes fine boats even if the warranty has been proven no good. Privity my arse!

Exactly the Contender name is on the boat they built it and need to fix this. I am in the crowd of giving TBS a whole new rig at this point for what they have been thru. Go find one in a yard that has never been titled and do a boat swap. Somehow Contender needs to save face with the public and this is about the only way I can see this happening.

I'm sure there is lots more to come about in the near future in this case.

Why don't you swap boats with TBS and end this?

I think TBS was totally out of line expecting C to repair or replace the boat. Come on guys. C doesn't have to even offer to fix it due to the fact there is no warranty from them. Privity. C tried to repair twice and SD tried once so BS should just go away. BS was just the unlucky team that got the lemon so they should man up and get on with their lives. It's only money after all.

They should just buy a new one cause I hear you get a very quick reply about warranty issues now.

I found it at Kingfish Connection. I do not put too much faith in the judgement of Kingfisherman.

I think Contender should consider buying TBS's boat at fair market value.

I can't see a working relationship between the two parties going forward.
