View Poll Results: How should Contender handle the TBS issue
What if those that are in the "give them a new hull camp" would simply pool their money and buy TBS a new hull? A dollar or so a person seems to be all that it would take.
Oh wait. Bad idea. They want someone else to spend the money.

Occasionally, jury verdicts are perverse or there are errors in the trial process. That's why we have Courts of Appeal. Don't both parties deserve the benefit of process and shouldn't that process be completed before a final judgment is rendered in this "court of public opinion"?
What about the option to do nothing because they beat the boat to shiz jumping waves. Actually, as a business decsion, Contender should do something to rectify the problem. You don't hear these problems with other manufacturers because they are handling it. I'm sure this isn't the first brand of boat to experience these stress/hull problems.
Come on Joe, Do the right thing, refund the purchase price. You will sleep better and you will be able to concentrate on the future instead being stuck in the past. You will be the HERO of this stand-off instead of the VILLAIN. Even if you win this battle, you will have lost the war. Reputations are a company's greatest asset. Right now you don't have the most important tool to success: A TRUSTWORTHY REPUTATION. You can fix this problem and regain your position in one easy step....Refund the purchase price and buy the 33T back. Once you have the boat back you can cut it apart and see what went wrong in the manufacturing process and never allow it to happen again.
You will get lots of 'High Fives" while hearing "WAY TO GO, JOE"
It's way too late for that....reputation of contender is gone.....and won't be returning even if they get a favourable verdict.
What about having a "Do what the court system ordered them to do" choice?
If the court has heard both sides of the story and reached a conclusion then how could any of us (the unknowing) possibly come up with any other answer?
Either we believe in our judicial system or we don't.

Oh, I "believe in" our judicial system alright; I believe LOTS of things about it.
Interesting. Up to this time, with about 140 responses, 92% favor either giving them a new hull (with or without "extras") or refunding their money in full. Joe N., you watching this thread too?
As much as some of you want to see a staple company like contender burn (which thoroughly disgusts me), they are going no where my friends. I am considering selling my 33t to move up to a bigger boat, maybe the 37st, and I have gotten more offers on it, for the same price I paid for it, since this team BS crap has unfolded than before. Just not sure I want to sell it yet because I like the boat so much. So don't get your hopes up too high guys!
And for the guys asking who would want a new contender hull now??
You can count me in that group! The contenders are IMO the best fishing CCs on the market. There are some others that I really like like the fountain, INV, and yellowfin...but none have the fishability of the contenders and I would own another in a heartbeat if thats the route I choose to take.

I for one don't want to see Contender Burn as you put, I want to see my friends and the boat I fish on receive the warranty coverage that they paid for. If you can't fix the problem then replace it and move on. After 3 attempts with major issues they simply wanted the boat replaced.
If one unhappy contender customer ruins the entire company then the company has bigger issues than anyone realizes.
I agree on a "new" hull as has been offered before! I have talked to TBS and I don't completely understand the issues on both side, however I think a new hull and switch over for free is fair! However, the name calling on both sides needs to end also! Both parties agree?

Well put.
