Can you use West System Filler in Polyester Resin?

I think it was wooden boat magazine that did a study a few years back comparing all kinds of different fillers, concrete, talcum powder, fumed silica, calcium carbonate, ground fiberglass, etc., they all work varying in sand ability, weight, and costs.

Yes you can but it shouldn't really be used as glue to bond something together. To fill a gap before putting cloth over it it would work fine...

What is the application? Any filler you can use with Epoxy can be used with Polyester. If it is structural you might use fiberglass chop, None of the other fillers are going to impart much additional strength. If it is below the waterline you might use one filler. If you are doing some cosmetic work topside and just need to thicken up your Epoxy you might use another.
But go ahead and use the filler with Polyester resin. I never use Polyester anymore. Even for Polyester repairs I use Epoxy.

Thanks Guys, I had a place on my washboard that had wore alittle, I got it all filled in will sand and gelcoat in the morning..If the rain holds off..LOL
