For 6k less, I would be all over those Optis, they are great engines and super reliable, also the lightest of the bunch by far at about 425 lbs each.

Thanks for all of your opinions,

I never thought it would be this difficult choosing an outboard.I guess its age, years ago I would go off half cocked and buy the first thing I looked at.Now I'm not sure Almar has the Mercury's cheap, but I'm not to sure about them being 06.I do like the no sales tax part.

I priced Yamaha's in Ashland Virgina there sales tax is 2% but still couldn't come close to the price of the Yamaha that I posted.

The Zukes I priced where on the eastern sure right before the rt 50 split heading to the beach. These are the ones I'm leaning towards.

My concern now is under powering I emailed Grady white to see what they think of a power option i got another price today on 200 Yamaha's and the gentleman said he could get the 225S cheaper I'm going to take a week or two to let things soak in then make a decision

How do you HONESTLY run the boat? Not to open the whole can of worms, but that needs to be a big part of the process. If you were closer to FL, I'd take you out for a test run.

How many 12 or 15 year old mercs do you see out on the water vs yamahas?

I repowered my 25' Trophy Cuddy with twin Suzuki 175 and could not be happier with the outcome . They are great motors and the extra pounds has not been any problem . Was concerned about the weight difference but in the end could not tell any change in handling from the lighter Merc's .
