that would make an awesome long range dive boat with a free uncluttered transom and full platform. I bet with those diesels at cruise the rage would be pretty damn impressive as well. They need a "drooling" emoticon.

Greg, I have the exact boat, and it has been on the market for over 3 years, for right around the 70k you were talking about. We repowered with cat 3208's 7 or 8 years ago, and are able to go WOT 28 kts and cruise around 24. As of now we have taken the boat off the market. This boat is probably one of the best all around fishing boats I have ever been on. We have comfortably bottom fished 8 - 10 people on this boat which has become a must with the ever changing laws. This boat would be awesome if you could make it go 40 kts and still get decent fuel millage.

There are 2 of these boats with 3196's, 600/660 hp. they will run 40 kts...With todays technology the same weight engine and boat will make 850/900 Hp,per side, the boat should run 48 plus knots and cruise @ 40 kts weather permitting ......We have not had many people interested in the Intrepid, probably because they are more of a outboard boat, that is my guess......

i do not mean to derail, but could you put outboards on that hull or is the hull design such that it could not support outboards?

i ask because I am interested in a few express models that have inboards and I would like to convert them to outboards. thanks
