Default Port City Help Please....

I'm signing up for my NMFS Tuna Permit for my boat and they want to know my Home Port city and state AND my Principle Port city and state.

Boat is registered in Baton Rouge, LA but I fish out of Cocodrie, LA.

Which is which?

Why don't you ask them what it is that they want you to put?

Home Port is where the boat is documented to - in your case Baton Rouge; Principal Port is where the boat is docked more often than anyplace else (often with commercial boats, they are not one in the same) - so put Cocodrie.

Ask the government a question? Have you ever been to the DMV?

Well, yes I have. Many times.

If you go there and ask, then put what they tell you, you're in the clear. If it's not a place you can go to, e-mail them. That way, you will have their answer in writing.
