Protection and Sealant for new boat -Wax or Polymer

I have see conflicting posts about using Wax vs. Polymer products - Which is better for a newer boat?
I don't need a polish as my hull is still 'shinny' but I do want to put something on to protect it as much as possible?

I polish with Meguiar's Flagship Premium Wax and then polish it with Sea Bowld Teflon Marine Polish. The Meguiar's cleans as it polishes and the teflon makes cleaning the hull after use a snap.

Try a cover. The Sun just tears up the surface of a gelcoat finish. I have yet to find any wax/polish/sealant that can hault the oxidation of the hull if constantly exposed to the sun.

I am getting ready to try the new Buff Magic and Pro Polish that was on a recent Ship Shape episode. I will report the results.

The mechanic where I purchased my boat says he's been using SeaPower cleaner/wax for the last 19 years on his bought which has a maroon finish and it still looks great. I bought a container of it but haven't tried it yet, he swears by it. Available at West Marine.
