Default 300 xs on formula F233?

Does anybody on here have a mercury 300 xs on their F233?
I am thinking of repowering mine, and was wondering if anyone can tell me what sort of speed, and mpg, gph you get?

WOW! That's some pretty aggressive stuff. I'm somewhat surprised the lower units are still in tact......

The 300 xs burns 0.3-0.5 gph at idle
around 10 gph at 4000 rpm
and 25 gph at 5800 rom (wot)

The 300 xs is the most fuel efficient outboard on the market.

The 233 Formula hulls seem to vary in speed. I would estimate a top end anywhere from 48-55 mph. I guestimate fuel economy to be around 2.5 - 3 mpg at 35 mph, maybe a little better with a light load.

I smiled through that whole video. Good stuff. I had a 24 Albi CC with a single 225 and would have killed for a 300 opti. IMO it would be a great combo. Low 50s?

Those idle #'s kill me - 1/5 of mine (per engine).

I think the reason we see alot of variance on speeds w/ the Formula hull (as prop mentions) is b/c thru re-builds etc, their weights are all over the place. Is yours already set-up w/ a bracket?

Low 50's wot & low 30's 4krpm cruise are prob. safe bets.

I'll agree with these numbers maybe even a bit higher. My formula 233 did around 50 with a yamaha 250 Hp. I expect that you'll probably see mid 50's

Yes Kitebuz it is, the guy I bought it from said he had an old Yamaha 225 30" shaft. He says he was getting around 42 mph, but whose to say he had it propped right!
Mid 50's would be nice.

I hit 52 with a 225 and no hardtop and have have hit 51 mph with a 250 suzuki and a full hardtop. I would think a 300 xs would hit 58 to 60 easy without a hardtop.
