Default Building a Pilothouse

If a guy wanted to build a pilothouse, how would he begin. Blass over Plywood?, Core? I am thinking about adding a 3 sided pilothouse (kinda like c-hawks) to a 23 Sea Craft Scepter. Iknow, I know. . ..

Take a gander at Kevin Beddoe's site. Building the pilot house is pretty well documented in words ind photos. Fir plywood, epoxy resin and fiberglas cloth is all you need.

Being a Sceptre owner myself, I would hate to see that. Why not have a hardtop made with eisenglass surrounds? Basically would serve the same purpose and look awesome.

Kevin Beddoe and I have talked. I told him where to get the best deal on window's.
Now you can look here. http://www.classicmako.com/projects/xshark/
Any more question's, just ask.
The whole cuddy/Pilothouse is foam cored. It will have a fold down crows nest w/ controls when finished.

It needs to have some style to it. If it looks like it's going 90mph while standing still, that's what you want.
On the other hand if it looks like a phone booth. or a dog house it will look like crap.

It also has to be the right boat. I sorta have to agree with RogueAngler.

I agree that the Sceptre is a good looking boat. The problem is, my example has a rough topsides, but hull is good. I figure the hull in that size is as good a hull as i am gonna get, so if i commit to a re-do, a pilothouse is the way to go, rather than trying to reconstrct the cuddy deal. BTW_ That Mako is Bitchin!

Doughnut:

I'm in San Diego so if you're interested in seeing the construction of my boat and the pilothouse first hand, let me know via email on my website.
